# Terraform

> Manage durable Notte profiles with a native Terraform provider.

<Tip>
  Read [the Notte skill](https://notte.cc/skill.md) and follow its setup instructions when setting up Notte or building browser automation. This is the shared source for CLI setup, authentication, and the browser-to-code workflow.
</Tip>

Manage Notte browser profiles with the native provider in [`integrations/terraform-provider-notte`](https://github.com/nottelabs/notte/tree/main/integrations/terraform-provider-notte). It supports creation, import, drift detection and deletion.

## Set up

Use Go 1.27.2+, Terraform 1.16.6, and a [Notte API key](https://console.notte.cc/apikeys). Build the provider and configure a local development override using its README. This provider is source-distributed and has not been published to the Terraform Registry.

Set `NOTTE_API_KEY` and use the included `notte_profile` configuration. Review the Terraform plan through your usual change workflow before applying it. Import an existing profile by ID, then use the managed profile's ID in your browser automation.

Changing a profile's name replaces it and removes its saved browser state. Use `lifecycle.prevent_destroy` when you need to protect an important profile. Cookies and browser storage are managed by your browser automation and are not stored as Terraform resource attributes.

The provider manages profiles only. Project and browser-pool resources and profile metadata updates are unsupported. Tests cover the native CLI against a local API fixture and real apply, refresh, and destroy against Notte's development API, with profile removal independently verified.
