# Anthropic Computer Use

> Run Claude's screenshot, mouse, and keyboard tools on a Notte browser.

<Tip>
  Read [the Notte skill](https://notte.cc/skill.md) and follow its setup instructions when setting up Notte or building browser automation. This is the shared source for CLI setup, authentication, and the browser-to-code workflow.
</Tip>

[Anthropic Computer Use](https://platform.claude.com/docs/en/agents-and-tools/tool-use/computer-use-tool) lets Claude act from screenshots. The Python and TypeScript examples connect its native computer toolset to a Notte browser through Playwright over CDP.

## Set up

Clone the [Notte repository](https://github.com/nottelabs/notte) and open [examples/anthropic-computer-use](https://github.com/nottelabs/notte/tree/main/examples/anthropic-computer-use). Its README includes installation commands and the complete runnable projects.

Set `NOTTE_API_KEY` from [Notte](https://console.notte.cc/apikeys) and `ANTHROPIC_API_KEY` from [Claude Console](https://platform.claude.com/settings/keys).

## Run a visual browser task

Claude Haiku 5.5 reads a random code from a screenshot and submits it through a form. The example verifies the page result and returns `output`, `session_id`, and the tool calls. Each attempt owns its Notte session and closes it on success or error.

The reusable adapter supports screenshots, clicks, typing, key presses, and waits inside a browser viewport. It does not expose a desktop. The SDK disables unsupported tools and handles the conversation loop. Provide your own confirmation callback when adapting the toolset to other pages; the demo permits typing only on its own test page.
